Gosainkund Trekking

Gosainkund is one of the most beautiful treks in the Himalaya. Its high alpine valley is inhabited by a Yak herding tribe closely related to Tibetans. It lies north of Kathmandu, a scenic bus drives away. Dhunche is the major village, district headquarters for this area and gateway to the Langtang National Park. As we trek towards the Langtang valley we are walking through the pine, oak and rhododendron forests. Spring in Gosainkund area, when the flowers are in bloom, is really a trekkers paradise.
After around 7 hour drive by bus you reach in Dhunche Bazaar and overnight in Dhunche then next day start trekking for the Gosainkund. It is very popular trail because Indian and Nepali Hindu pilgrimage are visit to Gosainkund Lake. It is beautiful lake in Langtang area. Gosainkund trekking itinerary possible to make alternative one can go Dhunche to Gosainkund and return the same way back and another one cross high pass Lauribinayak pass (4610m) then explore Helambu valley. Gosainkund there are few trekker lodge run by local people so it is possible to go lodge to lodges camp trekking.
