Mera & Island peak via Amphu Laptsa Pass
Mera Peak (6,476m) & Island Peak (6,189m) are two of the most popular trekking peaks in the Nepal Himalaya and this expedition combines attempts on both mountains with a trek through the remote Honku Valley and a crossing of the spectacular and challenging Amphu Laptsa Pass. The generous itinerary ensures proper acclimatization and we have plenty of days in the event of inclement weather.
Being slightly to the south of the main range, Mera offers spectacular views from Kangchenjunga in the east to the Langtang region in the west. Island Peak is situated right in the heart of the Khumbu area and although it is dwarfed by the enormous Lhotse Face to the north, the views from the summit are truly exceptional.
ITINERARY:
Day 01: Pick up from the Int'L Airport, transfer
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu, shopping and packing.
Day 03: Early morning flight to Lukla (2800m) Overnight in Lodge.
Day 04: Lukla to Chutenga (3350m) Camp.
Day 05: Chutenga to over Zatrela pass overnight at Chatrarbu (4340m)
Day 06: Chatrabu to Kothe (3700m) Camp.
Day 07: Kothe to Thagnak (4356m) Camp.
Day 08: Thanak Rest for Acclimatization Camp.
Day 09: Thanak to Khare (4900m) Camp.
Day 10: Khare to Mera La (5200m) For Glacier training & back to khare
Day 11: Khare to Mera High Camp (5800m) Camp.
Day 12: High Camp to Mera Summit (6476m) & return back to Khare
Day 13: A spare Day incase of Bad weather
Day 14: Khare trek to Rato Odar (5100m)
Day 15: Rato Ordar to Chamlang Base Camp (4700m)
Day 16: Chamlang B.C.to Seto Pokhari (4900m)
Day 17: Seto Pokhari to Amphulapcha Base Camp (5200m)
Day 18: Base Camp to over pass (5800m) camp in Chhukung Valley
Day 19: Chukung Valley to Chukung (4700m)
Day 20: Chukkung - Island Peak Base Camp (5150m)
Day 21: Climb to High camp (5481m)
Day 22: Climb to summit (6189m) and return to Base Camp
Day 23: Base camp - Dingbuche (4410m)
Day 24: Dingbuche - Tengbuche (3860m)
Day 25: Tengbuche - Namche Bazaar (3440m)
Day 26: Namche Bazaar - Lukla (2840m)
Day 27: Lukla Fly to Kathmandu (1350m) transfer to hotel
Day 28: Bhaktapur & Patan sightseeing and return
Day 29: Free day in Kathmandu for shopping or relax
Day 30: Drive to Airport for flying your own destination
