Jomsom & Muktinath Trekking (Fixed Departure 2008 - 2009)

Kaligandaki Valley (Jomsom - Muktinath) area is situated in north of Pokhara. Gorepani, where we spend one night before decending Tatopani offers some of the most dramatic close-up views of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the world. In addition, this region is known for some of the most abrupt altitude variations experienced anywhere. A magnificent sunrise at Poon Hill, before descending Tatopani (hotspring) and then we encounter the world's deepest gorge, where the powerful Kali Gandaki River has cut deep through the Himalaya between the massive peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, view of wonderful Dhaulagiri Icefall.
As we trek up the Kali Gandaki valley we pass though the traditional and prosperous villages of Tukuche, Ghasa, Marpha and Jomsom. The Thakalis, a traditional traders, have converted their charming and wonderfully clean homes into trekkers' lodges and are well known as one of the most gracious and successful innkeepers in Nepal. Past Jomsom we reach the arid Tibet-like landscape of Mustang. At Muktinath, set below the Thorung La pass, we have a day to explore the temple and villages and enjoy wonderful mountain views. Finishing our trek along one the major pilgrimage and trade routes Jomsom between India and Tibet we experience local traders, Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims making the end of our adventure as amazing as the beginning.

Day 03 Kagbeni trek to Muktinath (3800m) O/N Teahouse / Lodge
Day 04 Muktinath trek to Marpha (2670m) O/N Teahouse / Lodge
Day 05 Marpha trek to Ghasa (2012m) O/N Teahouse / Lodge
Day 06 Ghasa trek to Tatopani (1189m) O/N Teahouse / Lodge
Day 07 Tatopani trek to Ghorepani (2775m) O/N Teahouse / Lodge
Day 08 Ghorepani visit Poon Hill (3193 m) trek to Tadapani (2540 m)
